about

The Silent ANZAC was written about the AE2 submarine and the part it played during the Gallipoli campaign. The song features legendary Australian guitarist Phil Emmanuel and was written for the ANZAC Centenary. The AE2 took part in the Gallipoli Campaign and managed to get through the heavily mined Dardanelles to enter the Marmara Sea. The crew eventually had to scuttle the craft and were taken prisoner. The wreck of the AE2 still lays on the bottom of the Marmara sea as a shrine to the men who sailed on her,
